MAPLOG · Effective 2026-09-24

Summary

MAPLOG has no accounts and does not collect, store, or sell personal data. It uses no advertising, analytics, or tracking tools.

Photos

With photo library access, MAPLOG reads only the location and capture time of each photo, on your device. The images themselves are never opened or sent anywhere.

Location history file

A Google Maps Timeline file (Timeline.json) that you choose is read only on your device. The file is never transmitted.

Your videos

Videos are made on your device and saved to your photo library. They are shared only when you choose to share them.

Map tiles

To draw maps, MAPLOG requests map tiles from the MAPLOG map server (operated on Cloudflare). A tile request contains that tile's position, so it can reveal an approximate area, and, as with any internet request, your IP address reaches the server. This information is used only to answer the request; it is not logged or retained and is not linked to you.

App updates

The app checks Expo's update service (expo.dev) for new versions, which sends technical information such as device type and app version. Expo's privacy policy: https://expo.dev/privacy

Children

MAPLOG does not collect personal data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
